Not in the 'whoops-this-is-my-one-phone-call-please-bail-me-out' kind of way though. Sorry.
I had my first concrete travel plan realization today: I bought a plane ticket. Oh yes, a plane ticket from Quebec City to Les Iles de la Madeleine in early July.
I. am. so. EXCITED! I got to christen my new credit card with the purchase, as well. I christened my old and now retired credit card with a flight to Iceland, so maybe that will have to be a trend. Although, I should say that I don't plan to ever have many more cards, it just made sense...ah whatever.
Yay! So I'm officially actually totally going somewhere for sure. Phew. I feel better having put some wheels in motion for real. I found a bus system that can take me from the camping area (from my late June/early July camping plans as you surely recall) (Charlevoix, I discovered) down to Québec city in very good time for my flight, so that's an official backup if my ride falls through. Nice. I have also officially started a little folder with papers like the bus schedule and post-it noted of flight info etc. Whee!
It felt a little strange to book a flight for myself knowing at is all me all the time from that point on. I booked through my sister, so it was nice to have family on the other end of the phone. Her rather unique terms of sale included that I take a cab from the airport in les Iles d.l. M. to wherever I'm staying because I arrive kind of late. Aw, it's cute. And I WILL!
So that's my latest news. Other than that, it may be that I've found someone who wants to drive with me to Sioux lookout in June and camp along the north shore of Lake Superior on the way back, which would be ideal. That would be quite the excursion to do on my own, and of course the trip with my old and dear friend would be wonderful as well. So, I'm trying not to get too excited about it because it's only an if and a maybe, but I hope it works. I'll call her later and see how she feels about it.
I went to see the tulips today, if you haven't been yet, try and go ASAP because some beds are out already. The rest are beautiful and sometimes it's hard to see so many amusing tourists all together at once in that part of the city. Usually all you get to 'people watch' are federal employees, who, while entertaining in their own way, don't offer the same interest in terms of say, clothing or old-school pack/herd behaviour. And the tulips are pretty, too.
If you have any interest in techno music, and want a laugh, download the Numa numa dance, I thnk it's called. It's...yodelling? Hawai'ian calling? With some dude saying 'hello' in a think accent in a bunch of languages. It's like a car accident, it's totally horrible and serves society in no discernible way, yet I'm drawn back to listen again and again....
Please don't judge me. :)
take care. thanks for stopping by. As usual, I'll keep you posted.
xoxo

Salut Marianne!
J'ai trouvé le site web officiel pour les touristes qui vont aux iles-de-la-Madeleine. Tu peux même y réserver une chambre en ligne!
http://www.tourismeilesdelamadeleine.com/magdalen-islands/index.cfm
J'ai naviguer un peu sur le site et il semble y avoir plein de choses intéressantes à y faire comme du buggy cerf-volant et de la flottaison dans les grottes!
Chanceuse!
