Just dusting off the cobwebs with a lazy swipe of updates:
1. We bought a car! A 2010 Nissan Versa SL, base model. It's black, and yes, it alrady looks really dirty. There was only one available and I'm jsut happy it wasn't that wretched periwinkle purplish colour.
2. We are going ot Skagway Alaska opn a day trip for Canada day with friends. I will buy American candy and breathe deep the ocean air! Plus,l ther will probably be cruise ships in dock and those are fun to look at too.
3. We both still really dig disc golf> We play all the time and I am a wildly inconsistent player. Sometimes, really good; other times, I surprise everybody by hucking the disc 90 degrees from my intended trajectory. So far I haven't wanted to quit!
4. I stopped writing in my daily journal in April and I know I am going to be so pissed off next year when I stumble upon the blank spots on the page. What a chump! I still bring home my day planner every day thinking I'll use it to job my memory but no, still too lazy.
5. Rob has enthusiastically gotten into making kettle corn. He made a double batch last night so we'd have a few days' worth.I'm just happy it's gotten us away from PC brand. $3 doesn't seemlike much till you stop and take stock of your habit...3 bags a week = expensive! So, thanks Claire for the recipe and the hack. If we're gonna eat it, it may as well be almost free.
6. Wedding planning is going fine, so that's good. I am feelnig bits of anxiety but it's manageable. I think it's time to start thinking about the honey moon and what route we're going to take to get home.
7. I am successfully growing my 5th and 6th green peppers in my window sill at work. Yay!
8. The comunity garden plot is doing okay. The broccoli and bok choi I started indoors has bolted already (or is tryign to) so that's a failure. The bok choi is still edible but the broccoli isn't porducing florets. Looks like I will have to up my game next yar. So far, growing potatoes in containers seems to be working, we'll see. And all the beets and carrots adn lettuce and beans are great! I am sad we will be away fro 3 weeks in August tomiss watering and harvesting! boo.
9. The days are slowly getting shorter. The sunstroke music festival is over and it's twilighty at midnight (ish). Sorta. Anyway, it's geting better. It's till sunny and warm every day, but never too hot or too cold. Shhh, don't tell anyone. The weather here is actually very nice.
10. Futurama is back on the air! Oh my god! It's my favourite show, and has been cancelled and resurrected a few times. Hooray! It's back! It's the only DVD collection I ever bought adn wold consider getting. When they are well and truly dead in the water I will get he master collection, but will content myself with the seasons for now. Yay, nerd jokes!
