Anyway, on Saturday it was the Spruce Bog craft fair up at the Canada Games Centre. There as some cool stuff like carved bone sculptures and lots of neat art, and also some other cool handcrafted things. I bought some stocking stuffer-y things, but not much overall.
Sunday I volunteered with the Copper Haul Twister dog aces, where I was a human sign post in the woods, telling mushers and skijorers which way to go down a split trail. I was out on the trail by myself for a few hours and my new coat and multiple layers kept me toasty, which was awesome!
The race started at and was sponsored by Icy Waters Arctic Charr (among other sponsors like the Yukon Brewing company). Volunteers got a packet of two fat charr fillets plus entry into door prize draws, where I won some delicious local beer!
I had fun. Next race is sponsored by The Chocolate Claim o
n Dec. 6th, then the race after that is sponsored by Air
North...wonder what the prizes are then???haha Honestly it was so much fun and such neat people. I took a few pictures (I was shy to
snap the mushers and skijorers on their way towards me but I got some other pics). If you need exciting photos, head on over to the Whitehorse Star
Happy puppies on a beautiful day.
Skijoring! This was the "pet dog race" and this man's rottie Asha pulled as he skijored
I was out on the trail or like 2+ hours by myself. I also did a lot of jig dancing to keep my feet warm. Wish you were there!
