Once you pop...

As I spend inordinate amounts of time hanging out with my computer, I get sucked into all kinds of places on the web. Mostly for entertainment, sometimes out of a grim curiosity. I don't know how it happened exactly, but I found myself on a purity pledge website. 

If you don't already know, a purity pledge is where a young lady will stand with her father, he will pledge before god to war to protect his daughter's virginity, the virgin (that's how she's referred, no kidding) will pledge to remain sexually pure as a "very special present" to her husband on her wedding day. SHe would normally get a ring as a symbol of the pledge. 

So, other than it being super creepy to discuss with your dad exactly how much and what kind of sex you won't have till your legally wed, it is utterly hilarious. I mean, how can you take something seriously that has this as an incentive:

Come in "prom wear" and receive a Purity t-shirt which says "once you pop, you can't stop." 

Is it bad that I want one? Hollywood Purity Ball, here I come...

ETA: Oh my god! oh my god! You have to click HERE and see the icon they made for the event! It's a dad stick figure holding a key and the hand of a daughter stick figure with a KEYHOLE IN HER CROTCH! In any other culture this would be lewd and vulgar! How sexualized and inappropriate is it to have an image of a dad holding the item which will then be inserted into his daughter's vagina...seriously WOW.  Jesus must just hold his head and think WTF. I mean, wow. 

ETA again: so upon reading through the press part of the site, it's a satire show mocking the whole situation. Thanks Shatner, I say. They had me going.  Awesome.
