microburst

We had a microburs today, a cncentrated thunder and lightening storm combined with high winds and really heavy rain. It was something to see, and of course a huge branch c-r-r-r-a-c-k-e-d off a treee and almost lianded onthe van. But it was caught up in the rest of the branches, so that's lucky!

It's been a long evening of rain and thunder, and I woke up from thunder and lightening this morning as well. We've lost power at least three times, too. Re-setting clocks is a bugger, though sometimes we don't bother.

I love this time of year. I love the rain. I love the storms. Few things remind me how privileged I am to be indoors than a big, out-of-nowhere rainstorm.

Oh, and the smell of storms!

I experienced a Microburst the second day I was in Canada, I thought it was a tornado or something, sounded like a train poassing by the house and we couldnt really see out the window. I saw a squirle fly buy though, it reminded me of the movie twister. halfway through it got all calm and sunny, but than there was more storm again. the news said it was a microburst though. I must say storms are one of the things I miss the most, the waves breaking on the dunes, the smell... yes spring is awesome!
