The Weekend Update

Oh yes, I had an unexpectedly lovely weekend. The kind that unknits your shoulder muscles and calms the brain.

Friday evening I forget what we did. It was probably nice and it probably involved watching at part of the Indiana Jones trilogy.

Saturday, I left the house to marvel at the lovely weather and visit with C and M

[as I was typing this I took a quick moment and watched the YouTube daily show segment where Stephen Colbert loses it and it was funny enough that I unexpectedly blew herbal tea through my nose onto my keyboard. It hurt, but I think I learned a valuable lesson about realizing just how filthy this keyboard must be.]

I spent the rest of Saturday knitting for someone's baby shower, rehydrating and cooking up some beans (new hobby!) and stuff like that.

Sunday, I did a little work for work (I know!), went for a few hours to hike around in Gatineau with a pal, and then took in The Constant Gardiner with R, C and M. It was an awesome movie, the kind that motivates me to want to make a difference in the world and not just get by. It was great to see and it was a lovely full day. I got some sun, was outside making the most of the weather and had the satisfaction or being the kind of busy where ou get lots done inthe cracks of time between being busy with lovely things. I swear, the house would have been messier if I hadn't left the place.

I'm the kind of person who will have a harder time being productive if there are no constraints on my time. Having things planned out for the day will make me want to get in 10 minutes here and there cleaning or studying or whatever and I like that. I'm always working on my self starting...I always love to get things done, and to get outside and it boggles my mind that I'm not ALWAYS doing it! What the heck, eh?

Anyway, chalk this weekend up as a success. Next weekend is the beginning of a loooong weekend where I can make appointments and get things done during the day.

Before then, I have a bunch of documents that I want to be as perfect as I can make them...

have a lovely day and get outside for a nontime stroll if you can, it'll soothe the soul and it's always worth a little free vitamin D.
