A little bit of everything..

Well, this one will be quick as I've got Liz and Frank waiting for me to finish so we can hit the road....

Well, wow. So far I've been across Vancouver Island with lush rainforest to semi-arid desert, through thte mountains of Whistler and to an in terior BC small towen rodeo. I went surfing in Tofino and I am addicted, the rodeo was really cool too. Some of the events are a little disturbing to watch like the calf roping and the bucking steers (they make them jump by tightening a strap acfross the genitals of the animal..as saoon as it's off the steers and the horses are fine...) and some are very cool like the barrel racing and the heavy horse pull. There was a genuine rodeo clown there and a Miss Queen North Thompson and her princess and everything.

Oh, and LOTS opf cowboys, and that means TIGHT jeans, cowboy hats (I got a dsort-of one, Ele, but not a real one, they cost $$!) lots of swagger and belt buckles the size of dinner plates. It was people watching paradise!

I'm winding my way through the okanagan valley on my way to some hone grown peaches and plums, and have just enjoyed my first hot shower in way too long, and most of you that know me will know that it was WAY. TOO. LONG. Anyways, it's all good times and it surely is just beautiful here. It helps that I ahve fabulous knowledgeable local guides making this trip better than I ever could have planned on my own. I've seen whales, eagles, black bears, stellars/sea lions up close, and giant starfish and eaten frech crab caught with fish heads I touched (!!) and more. Wow, let me tell you, this is the place to visit.

Gotta run, as poor Liz and Frank are patiently waiting on me, but I'll catch yup more as spoon as I can.

thanks for stopping by!

pps Meg, I won't be here in 3 weeks, I'm sorry, but that does NOT mean that I won't be up for a visit in the near future, that's for sure. After all, I haven't seen fernie yet! Thanks for trying to read my blog :)
