Round up

1. It's "Iceland Weather" for me these days. The time of year I fantasize about wandering around either the moors of Scotland or moody Iceland, swimming in outdoor geothermal pools, knitting by fireplaces, eating stews and being cozy. Its the reasonable approximation of the weather here at this time, not sure why it makes me want to travel to experience more of the same. It's pretty clear to me that I will one day have to make it back to both those places.

2. Babies all around me (not in me!). So far, 2 baby girls born to people near me, two more girls on the way this winter, one work colleague just had her baby girl on Saturday (the baby is called Juniper!). Busy knitting season, yo. If you're thinking of having a baby and want a girl, consider getting to know me better.

3. I have been walking home up the stairs AND been walking the stairs on Wednesday lunchtime recreationally. Even though hallow e'en candy is the bane of my existence I can feel progress. The first time I did lunch time stairs (approx 22o stairs x 6 sets) I thought my calves were going to burst off my shins and stomp away in protest. Now I can do it , stretch and be okay. Hooray!

4. Work's going pretty well these days! How about that!

5. Hard frost these days, wintery shill but no snow sticking just yet. Definitely light mitt and ear covering weather though. Brings me back to my annual realization that I don't really care for myself in hats and also I need to knit myself a decent hat once and for all. Until real winter kicks in , then I wear that fur, ear flappy thing and revel in the warmth. I respect the warm citizen, not the stylish ones come -40 degrees.

6. I finally discovered the good consignment store in town! I brought in a bunch of stuff, it all sold off really quick and I've found lots of great clothes and shoes there. Hooray! We have no value village, the sally anne is hit and miss at the best of times, and buying new leaves you at expensive boutiques, wal-mart or reitmans. Or the teen board shops. So the consignment store is a godsend, since lots of the stuff is from Outside. Niiice.

7. I finally went on a real local hike! It was about 3 hours return, up into the hills near town. Super nice. I took a super quick video at the top. I will try to remember to post it. I try to stay off the computer after work, who needs that?

8. Buhhhhh, everythign is fine, nothing unusual or interesting is really happening!

9. We bought a latex mattress! It's in BC though...we have to wait to get it. Healthier option by a long shot, and kind of weird to buy at a distance, but I'm confidant it'll work out and we got such a a good deal. Lemme know if you want to know why we went with a natural latex mattress. It's pretty much our wedding present, hooray!!!
