1. We went to the community garden, like every day, we got a beautiful zucchini, several handfuls of sugar snap peas and a bag of lettuce. AND we're picking beautiful raspberries every day from the garden bushes, washing and freezing them for winter use. Free.
2. We went to the superstore and managed to score the following deals: we needed pasta and found name brand boxes of whole wheat penne with $1 off manufacturers coupons. We got all remaining boxes (6) for $0.77/box. We ALSO got 2kg of aged basmati rice for free..it scanned at $8 but was supposed to be $6. We have a system where I go get the price scan tag (you have to do that now) while rob queues up.
3. We went to Canadian Tire to get taller legs for our loveseat. And I got a silicon mat for the cookie sheet because I am trying to phase out non-stick in our lives. That stuff is toxic and squicks me out. Nothing on sale but still a good thing.
4. We went to Marks Work Wearhouse for rob to get a pair of shorts. Well, amazing belted shorts were on clearance for $9.99 (down from $40), we found the last two plaid summer shirts he seems to love so much, also down to $9.99 (down from $25) and he talked his way to 50% off new awesome slippers, even though they weren't on sale. BUT THERE'S MORE. At the checkout there's a promotion where you get 10% off per item on top of the clearance price, knocking off another $12 or so.
After shopping like this I feel like I am WINNING AT LIFE.
Some people run, some people paint. I frugal. (can we verb frugal? I frooged?). Yes.
