The zombie thesis has taken some really tough shots to the torso and legs, but as we know will not stop moving without a clear and fatal shot to the head.
I've finished one set of edits, and am waiting on the next. When I get those back, sometime this weekend maybe, I'll have a couple of days to make those changes as well as add the stuff I've been thinking of adding, and set a defense date. That's like blowing off its legs, but it still having its arms to make slow and groany progress.
The defense will be the gunshot wound to the head. The revisions afterwards will be the hero venting a movie's worth of aggression by sawing off the head, just to be sure. Necessary, maybe a little gratuitous. Sending in the final PDF is like the last "funny/ironic/relief" comment i.e. "you should get a new dentist, this one's gone fishing" or some such thing. Stupid, but it just wouldn't be time for the credits without it, you know?
If I were a cartoonist, I think I would illustrate the story of my thesis as a zombie movie. I might do it anyway, since my stick figures have starred in a couple of small stories already. If I do it, I'll scan it for you guys. I think it could be hilarious.

Things here are fine! I went to the cottage with my dad for about 3.5 days and read 4 books, chopped and split wood, and ate a box of twizzlers. Man, could be worse, I tell ya. It was crist and clear and really beautiful. On the way to the outhouse at night I thought about how nature isn't scary. I'm not afraid of animals, I'm afraid of humans. If a deer put its face up to my window, I'd be startled, if some person did that I'd pee. Which is why, if you're going to be terrified, the outhouse is the place to be.

I think I'm going to start keeping a little notebook so I can write my blog ideas down. I've had a couple turns of phrases and things I would like to write about and now they are gone in the mists of the fog in my brain. Anyway, I hear keeping a little notebook is how you keep a good blog, so maybe I'll try that. When my thesis is over and done with I will want to write more.
