I never stopped breathing, per se, but yesterday was a biggish day in school for me. I gave my thesis proposal presentation which was pretty important. There was a panel of profs in to ask questiosn and hopefully add suggestions, so the goal is to be coherent enough to have them ask non-humiliating questions (example of humiliating questions: "So, what was your thesis?" or "your plan actually can't be done, and here's why.."). Igot some good suggestions that I was told will make my thesis more defensible, which is music to my ears, so things are ecvolving.
My prof in that class takes notes on her laptop while you speak and do your Q&A to capture her comments and the salient points brought up in the questions andsends you your grade right thre, thanks to wireless. I did well and it made me pretty happy.
I didn't check my grade right away though because I had to leave thesis class to attend marketing class and give a different presentation to a differnet panel. This presentation is a course requirement but not a particularly important factor in my thesis, for example. However, that went well too and it made me happy. I may have converted more people to Freecycle.org! That presentation was cool because it was at the university club and we had dinner afterwards (with a "free" drink) which was pretty nice. I got to sit with nice people I like, to talking and pasing time was easy and fun.
SO! Now I need to write up my final marketing strategy, which should be okay though pretty new to me, and write up my final thesis proposal, which should be less easy but more cool. Then it's all thesis all the time and no. more. classes. ever. EVER!
Anyway, the only downside was that Claire and I had to miss our volleyball playoff game and we apparently barely lost and it's heartbreaking because we wanted to play so much! Too bad. It did remind me how much I love playing team sports though and I think I need to join some kind of league this summer. I wonder what's the cheapers and funnest thing I can do? I'm kind of into playing softball again. I had a chance but I blew it because it was going tobe too far to bike to games, but maybe I can find something local. I miss that, and I like the idea of regular outdoor excercise, you know?
Anyhoo, that's the update. All else is good and normal. We bought a matching couch and chair from the best furniture second hand store ever! Our living room is even more living-roomy. I'm super happy with it because it's a solid wooden frame with cushions on it, so the cushions can be replaced rather than getting an old overstuffed thing where you can't do anything but steam clean it. I'd take a picture but our camera is mega broken and recalled by Sony so I have to figure out how I'm going to get that taken care of. At least we didn't break it! Then, more pictures!
Take it easy
