I guess I've been pre-occupied. Here's what I think about every day:
texas: we leave in about 2 weeks I have my practicl F-calss schedules for the 8th, adn I'm practising on the school van. I wrote and passed the first part, so here's hoping. Also, I'm helping to run the fundraising raffle so I'm on top of prize collection, teicket sales and other "fun" organizational stuff.
Thesis: It's getting closer. I have specific homework defining key terms I might want t o use and collecting research and journal articles to support my fledgeling thesis idea. I'll reveal (heh) my ideas when I can explain it in less than a paragraph.
Marketing (class): I have decided to focus on freecycle.org I'm going to create amaerketing plan to encourage students especially to get in the habit of offerin their stuff and checking feecycle for things before they go out and buy. Check it out, guaranteed there's something in your area. It's all volunteer and you can search the forums for whayyou are looking for especially. I'm thinking of designing posters and intituing a "street crew" system where inspired volunteers can print the promotinal matrerial I prepare and use it to advertise the service. This is all new to me but I like the class.
TA: My TA-ing is going well this semsester but it's very front heavy in terms of marking, and I run 2 tutorial sessions a week, so while it's good gfor gettingme on campus, it's a bigger time commitment. I really like the students though. And the course is cool, it;s amini thesis course, so sometimes I learn something fo my own thesis and it meshes nicely with the content fo the studens. Though sometimes I'm thinking, "can I even explain this? "??
I play squash 2 times a week-ish. I bought a rcquet so I have to go 15 more times t make it worth the purchase. Lots of us are learning to play so it's lots of fun.
Hmm, other than that? Just other regular day to day stuff. WHen I write it down it doesn't seem like much but it feels like a lot. Maybe it's the meetings associated with all those things. Anyhoo, I'll leave you with this pointless anecdote:
On my way to school yeasterday a man walking his 2 prety dogs ran across the street into my pth, so I got off my bike to walk around him. I noticed he was having a hard time getting his dogs out of the way, but I guess to be fair he was only using one hand since he was carrying his tall boy beer, and also clearly (smelly) drunk att he time. It was 11 a.m. Awesome. I felt pretty bad about it though, since he must not be in a god place.
Whee! have a great day!
