Every day

Every day I check these three sites:

Woot Their story is "one day, one dfeal" and they are freally good deals. It's usually a gadget, usually a really good deal. They have forums so you can see what people are saying about the product, and they often sell out before the end of the day. It's cool to se what's going on, and also pretty tempting.

Canadian Deals Blog is just what it sounds like. SOmeone with a lot of time on their hands posts all the flier and other sales and deals from Canadian stores, includeing supermarkets. It's good to see and 99 cents for a bag of grapefruits IS a good deal!

Destash- Cash for your stash! is a blog for people to sell off their knitting stash, be it books, needles, yarn or other related bits and pieces. I never really buy anything, but I always look. I'm a yarn p0rn voyeur! Ew!

Those are my daily checks (other than the myriad of writing blogs I look at all the time, including my own sidebar and the sidebar of everyone I read). Just thought I'd share!

byeee! Oh, I almost finished a sleeve for Rob, but I used the wrong needles since I don't have the right ones. The sleeve was too snug, so we went to Michaelsand they didn't have what I needed either, so we bought dowels and we're going to make my9mm double pointeds. So cool! In exciting news, the ripped sleeve was re-balled using my new beautiful ball winder! It's perfect and wonderful and I have another centre pull ball in stead of a bigg fat mess. le sigh.

This ball winder machine sounds pretty slick, almost like "undo" for knitters. Although, having never seen one, I picture this scary looking spinning gizmo and imagine that (ball winder + long hair) = accidental permanent curls.

Heh heh, good thing the ballwauinder is manually oerated, so hopefully the hand/hair coordination cooperates and there are fewer accidents! I'll post a pic sometime soon so you can see it. It's all handmade. It's nice to have a rewind feature, though! In case this might interest, sometimes yarn/wool is sold in skeins, which is a big twisted figure eight of yarn, which then needs to be wound ina ball for ease of usage, another function of the ball winder. Lastly, I can use it to wind up wool I reclaim from thrift store sweaters after wahing and hanging to get out the smell and the kinks. Functional!
