I am unnecessarily gigantic!

I should start with Friday.

Friday was great! Work was so much fun, since mostly I was saving e-mails, tidying up, chatting wih people who were saying the nice things you say when someone is leaving, and at one lovely point, drinking a reasonable amount of beer. Thanks for the beer, guys!

That night I went to the Mercury Lounge (therefore I am now entitled to call it the Merc) to see R play a track for John Akpata, a local spoken word poet. John was having a CD release, and his stuff is really, really good...please don't think 'so I married an axe murderer' poetry! He had R for his creation poem, this amazing tabla player, a jazz trio (alto sax/tenor sax/flute) and a bass clarinet player...all providing the accenting music (respectively) throughout the evening. It was hotter than hell, but really fun. I definitely recommend John's stuff, which I never thought I'd dig, but it's great.

Then, I slept.

Saturday was helping R's sister move, so that was cool too, but I swear, I'm on a beer break for a bit.

Whatever, guess what! I'm totally unemployed! The cats are asleep but I'm not, since poor R still has to make a showing at his place of employment. There is so much to do, I'm relieved to have the chance to do it.

Mainly on my list:

* get my shoes and get my dress altered ASAP
* sort out apartment in Halifax
* Sort out apartment here...i.e. clean up, pack up
* How are we getting to Halifax? Fly? Drive?
* What are we doing in Australia? You know, specifically?
* Details like sending in our HI info to get train discount
* Make salsa! Hooray!

Such a dreary day. I will try to post interesting things to see and do, in case you need a little break/pick me up.

[time passes]

Okay, I found something. This dude at http://toole.blogspot.com has p[articipated in Chevy Taho's commercial enterprise in accordance with 'The Apprentice'. Check out his post dated Friday March 31, 2006 and his ad here. It makes me laugh. Lots. Follow me! Welcome to Iraq!

Cheers
