well, this posting is just delicious

I just realized that it kind of bugs me when people refer to a colour as 'delicious'. I was reading a knitting blog (shut up!) and she took a picture of some yarn and said 'isn't the colour delicious?' and I immediately imagined her squealing with girlish glee. blech. And thought, no, it's totally NOT! The same way it's not 'hard' or 'ruined' or 'bricks'.

I mean, a feeling can be delicious, a person can look delicious, of course food can be delicious, but according to my arbitrary judgements, colours of yarn cannot, unfortunately, be delicious.

This weekend I went to montreal with my pal and dress shopped till we dropped, and I think I found the dress I want to wear to my sister's wedding. Whee! I have to find some other kind of bosom supporting device to circumvent the dress pattern's unwillingness to conform to the rigid standards of today's ladies undergarments, but hey. C'est la vie. It's bee-yoo-ti-ful. Hooray! Also, how's THAT for a kickass sentence!

I finished the back, the two front panels, and one sleeve of blackberry, so all I have left is to knit another identicle sleeve, seam/block the thing, and then knit the outside ribbing. At this rate, it should take me just under forever to finish up. I mean, frig! How do people pump out pairs of socks in an evening, or get a cardican full of patterns knit up in 3mm needles? Knitting gnomes? Can you get them in packs of 12 because I have so many prjects in mind and not the speed to do them!

I got my first value village sweater to frog for wool . It's pure wool from Chile and it feels really raw and full of lanolin, so I'm hoping it'll felt really well into a cat bed. However, I got all in love with the different colours (yay awesome colours) of this truly heinous sweater that I totally ignored that it was clearly woven and not knit, so my evening activities involves unravelling woven strands and splicing them together, meter by painful meter. This is where the patience thing kicks in. I'm a thinker! Ah well, the wool is perfect for the cat bed, and I will get there eventually.

Alright, back to the good times. I'll try and post some in progress pics so you can see what piles of knitted or woven yarn looks like. Enquiring minds like to know, I'm told.

Speaking of delicious....did you ever find discount cinnamon hearts? Did that happen this year?

I looked all over - no luck!
Even three days after valentines day most stores were still trying to sell their crap for full price - fat chance!

If you can't tell, I'm a little disappointed. :(

I know! What the heck. I haven't had ANY at all this year, which sucks. But I'll keep looking, it's got to happen sometime right? Maybe I'll just go to bulkbarn and get some anyways. The little spicy ones. Those are the best!
