Weekend Update and ramblins. Oh, the ramblings.

Minus all the celebrity guests.

Man, did I ever have a niiiiiice, slooooow weekend. I slept 10-12 hours per night except for last night where I went for a more modest 7.5 hours. I mean, R was sick, but what;s my excuse? Anyway, we went to bed extra early and woke up in time to have a nice full day.

Weekend highlights:

- blueberries on clearance means fresh blueberry pancakes
- Silk on sale means liberal use of our favourite soy beverage (shut up, it's a treat)
- living room overhaul means a better flow to the room and resulted in a whole big garbage bag full of stuff to donate to the Hub, and we haven't even been through the kitchen yet
- 1/3 done my first sleeve on the cardigan, and it's getting easier, especially since I abandoned the bobbles. Another day, bobbles, another day.

We were all set to see King Kong at the Mayfair, but it turns out it 3.5 hours long, which is mega marathon, and I think we'll save it for another time. That takes intestinall fortitude, you know? We ended up seeing 'Corpse Bride' which was good, but I had a hard time suspending my disbelief though a bunch of it. I was also worried that it was going to be all musical the whole time, but it wasn't so that was a relief. In all, it was a good movie, but it felt longer than it's 77 minutes. I'd see it if it was free (which is was, heh) or if you're splitting the rental. It's not a bad story, just not as cool as Nightmare Before Christmas.

I think I'm coming to the end of my recent swearing phase. Does anyone else have these? I usually really don't dig swearing and think that swear alternatives are generally more unusual and therefore carry more oomph, but occasionally I get in the mood to swear all the freaking time. Inapropriately (shout out to work there) and with reckless abandon. But now I'm petering off to saying eff which I secretly find to be deeply satisfying, and that ususally means I'm coming off the swearing. Does anybody else have phases that they want to share? Secret habits and quirks? We all have them, and if youdon't say it just means I have to guess and play my plane-game of assigning quirks and habits to everyone on the flight with me. Try it, you make up storylines and personalities for the people around you, prefereable ones you don't know (it's more...free) and go with it.

Sometimes when I'm in the airport, most of the people around me are in an elaborate love rhombus and are desperately seeking validation, but can't due to their inauspicious issues of , say, none of them speaking the same language, or have the compatible sexual orientations or whatever. Then you get to take whatever fidgets they have and figure out how they play in to the scenario. It's a good exercise.

Oh, the travel games. I can tell you now, I have a few, and I am one of those people who can eat at a restaurant by themselves, mostly because I'm not so much by myself as embroiled in a bodice-ripping romance or spy novel. Thank pete for the imagination.

What do you like to do with yours? I showed you mine!!

I remember the travel game called "I've lost control of my neck". Have you played that one recently? How about "flecter flecter"? It's gonna be a fun flight to Australia, eh?
:)

heh. I wonder how many flecters there are on the way to Australia??? Ahh, good times. I still don't totally get how you didn't murder me in those days. But hey, it's worth it for the memories, right?

Too bad you didn't have the 'intenstinal fortitude' required - you would have seen us at the theatre.

It was a long, long movie... even with the intermission.

I don't really understand why, though. They could have easily chopped about 45 minutes out and not lost any of the story. I'd watch it again, but only on fast-forward.
