mmmmmSunday

Sleeping in is such a nice way to start a Sunday! Too bad I woke up early, then, but hey. It'll only help with getting back on track for the week, so no worries.

On Friday, my whole family went on a road trip to Montreal to rubber stamp (and magnetic-swipe) my choice of dress for the wedding! Everyone liked it! We got it! have my dress sorted out! YES!

Many, MANY thanks to Batman for taking me out there and shopping with me to get me figured out. Also, thanks to my mega supportive family. It was an expensive trip and it was very cool of all of you to come with me. It worked! I'm done! Except for shoes and underwear but whatever! So that's really exciting. It's so nice to finally find a dress that is flattering, interesting, the right weight, the right length, re-usable (key point!) and workable with the wedding. Oh, that feels good. Fabulous.

Other than that, things are quiet over here. We are attending R's niece's 5th birthday party this afternoon (cake! party! presents! childish glee!) and we're excited to give her the present. Originally, we got her the Curious George soundtrack (all Jack Johnson goodness. There's a recycling song for pete's sake! jack johnson is wonderful in so many ways) and the original Curious George book. we got back and realized that the curious George book starts with george getting kidnapped in the jungle and steam shipped to the states (including talks with the man with the yellow hat about how george should be happy abou this) and ends with George being all 'wow, the zoo is a great place live!'. So that was weird, because I'm pretty sure the monkeys taken from Africa and boated to the USA aren't thinking that, so much. So we went out and exchanged it for the Paper Bag Princess instead. Charlotte (the niece) is having a princess phase so at least she can see one who realizes she's much smarter and eventually decides against getting 'rescued' by a crap prince.

Now THAT is a theme I support. holla!

Anyway. On to check out more knitted wonders and maybe making progress myself. Have a lovely day.

I totally don't remember there being any steamships in the curious george book. I guess I never read the first one.

Also, congrats on the dress success!
