Happy things

Okay! Big things!

So, after I complained here about my bad Bushtukah experience, I wrote the company and let them know I was disappointed etc. and explained my two not-so-perfect experiences with the store (while mentioning the more common good experiences) and the president wrote back! Like, the next day, with an enormous letter of apology AND explanation! He described how I was one of very few with a negative experience and then went into detail about what is going on with the store and the measures that are being taken to make sure people have the best experience etc etc, and it was clearly NOT a form letter.

It was wonderful, so I replied that I was well satisfied and felt great about the place again (they really are doing what they should, training almost daily, the president reviews daily schedules to ensure experts on at all times, not commission based sales etc etc) and he's always working on more stuff, all outlined in the letter. Anyway, I told him thanks for taking the time with me and that I'm totally back on board.

SO I have a lovely note in my e-mail from the president of Bushtukah letting me know that I made his day and he sends another apology, and a promise that he's always working on things. So there. Go back to Bushtukah, and if you don't feel you are getting the service you want, then ask someone else. It's not commission based, and it's your money, so next time I won't be so shy and I will most certainly return to Bushtukah! You should too!

OKAY. I'm reviewing in chronological order, mostly. Yesterday evening we went out to finally get Didgeman his wedding wear for my sister/brother-in-law-to-be's wedding thang. The two of us had been out a few times before and been to every store in and out of our price range in Rideau, St Laurent, and Place D'Orleans. He tried on suits, we learned about good ones and crappy ones and whatever. We had an idea of mixing a sport jacket with dress pants and then went back to a suit. Whatever whatevery, research was done. No luck, and with our budget, we were sad that we were probably going to haveto settle, but we wanted to get the best we could with what we had. We put together a team (well, or they offered, I can't remember) of the two of us and my sister and her boyfriend. They are shopping ninjas, so this is akin to calling in that really secret government organization that's above the law that "gets things done' but answers to no-one except a higher power or whatver, except applied to clothes and no-one dies. And it's not really a secret, but whatever, they're good).

So the four of us, Supergroup style met at Rideau and exciting (to me) story short he found something that he loves! That my sister and her man love! That I love! AND IT WAS ON SALE! We ended up at the Bay with sport jacket/nice shirt/nice pants combo for versatility, as Didgeman could rock the jacket with extre nice jeans for didge gigs and other events, more than a suit.

Well. We ended up finding the perfect stuff for him. If you've ever met him, you'll know that plain grey isn't really his scene, but we (by 'we' read: my sister) managed to find a beautiful jacket that has a hint of purple (wait! don't think it's velvet or a purple coat..very subtle, but still funky) in extremely good quality, that fit Didgemand perfectly. We were stoked till we saw the price was over $600 for the jacket alone! Our outfit budget was, shall we say, not in that range, considering that was only one piece, and even though the jacket was nice, if he had nothing else to show for it, it couldnlt carry him with his pants and, say, his Weezer shirt (nice shirt, but not formal, eh?).

Okay, I take it back, this isn't going to be much of a shorter version. I'm too into it.

Anyway, we got the sales person to scan it, and it showed to be on sale by 25%, which made it $475, still not down enough, until we realized that the Bay was having a clearance sale, where reduced stuff as a further 30% off!!!! Yessss! So we got him a reduced/clearance $125 fabulous shirt (light purple, or somthing. it's so pretty yet manly!), a funky yet classy and totally versatile tie (squares!), and unbelievablebly classy, comfortable and versatile pants (greay! well, they are extra comfy, so he says)! All stuff we could never, ever afford if it weren't all 55% off! So, we got a beautiful outfit that he loves, that we all love, that he will be able to use till he wears it out, which will take a while because it's also such good quality, which is worth well over $1000 for much much less. Thhoug, even with this discount, it was goingt to be still over our budget by almost a couple hunded dollars-ish. Booo.

But wait, there's more! *gasp* We got a bonus veggie peeler, at an added value of $19.95!! Just kidding! When we get to the till, the most fabulous sales attendant I have ever met (not too helpful (read: clingly), honest, knowledgeable, says when it's not his area of expertise, casual, nice, we love you Adam!) says, hey, maybe you should sign up for a free Bay card because you get your signing bonus thing of yet another 10% off. 10% more off!!! That meant we could afford it! That 10% knocked off another chunk that put the whole set only $62 over our budget for the outfit, and I swear, I was on a contact high from being close to these clothes. He looks hott in his freaking new outfit, and he knows it. Whee!

Before we made our way to checkout, he tried everything on (my sister had found his pants for him..she's obviously magical) and her M tied his tie and he put the whole outfit on, and there is just something about good quality clothes that make them fit so nicely. It was a beautiful thing. So, he is set. It's beautiful, and if you need nice clothes, good quality stuff that is normally expensive, seriously, hit the Bay at Rideau, it's totally worth it.

Phew, that was nice.

*******

I walked to work with the streetlamps still on, I believe that's a first. Though , I wasn't making up for days over Christmas, I could leave at 3:30. That might just be totally worth it in the long run. We shall see.

Anyways, I am offically the last person who needs to get set up for the wedding. I htink about it everyday (I do!) and I'm thinking about finding the right dress. It will come, and when it does, it's going to be magnificent.

I GOT PAID YESTERDAY.

**************

The coolest thing happened last night! The alarm at the Cathedral where Didgeman works got tripped, and the security company called us for some reason, so we decided we'd go and set the alarm again. Apparenlty this alarm has been getting tripped lots and they think it's bats. Whatever, we went . So I got to see the backstage of the place ANG see the cathedral sanctuary from the inside at night from the pulpit/whatever-the-front-bit-is area! So cool. One of those cool moments where you are in a beautiful place, but at such a time or place that not too many others have seen it like that. It felt cool. We checked everything out and set the alrms again, which always freaks me out, but whatever, it was fine, and off we went, just before being in a church at night got creepy and weird! Because it was bound to get creepy and weird at some point soon once Didgeman pointed out the crypts of past Bishops on one wall. Maybe they set off the alarm.

Anyway, yesterday ended up being a freaking awesome day. Yay awesome days!

***************

Anyway, off to achieve something. Or whatever. If you made it this far, you are a champion, or alternately, go back to work! heh, I should talk. Thanks for stopping by.
