An internet hog, anyways...I always have so much to write and I hog the net like crazy. SAo I'll keep this to highlights too..
I'm having a superb time n the Okanagan Vallayey, seeing all the famous orchards and do on...what I didn't know is that Canada has a desert here (side by side to a lush orchard, no less). Actually the desert is about 9% of what it used to be sue to the vineyards and orchards, but I took a tour and saw a snake and it was hot hot hot! Very cool!
I also took a tour of the first ever north american first nations vineyard, the Nk'Mqpt (that
s wrong, but it's close, and pronounced Ink-a-meep). i learned how to wine taste, sort of, and did the tour with about 60 Germans, which was hilarious and fun, with the translator making jokes and me understanding words like 'Kaput' when talking about crushing grapes and 'souerkraut' when talking about using our feet to crush the grapes...anyways, lots to learn there, too! Liz and Frank and I had a onderful lunch omn Osoyoos byt he lake and it was gorgeous. We are staying with fabulous cousins to Frank yet again, and these two grilled up home caught salmon with tonnes of home grown veggies to eat for supper, and fresh home grown peaches to eat all day long. They melt in my mouth, let me tell you. Oh, so good. Makes me nervous that I mightmiss applesause season though I know I have time yet.
I'm so inspired to grow tonnes of food and can it all! Man, I hav no idea the Okanagan valley was SO dry, like has rattlesnakes dry, even though it basically has a big continuous lake going down 80 miles of the valley. It's all really incredible to see the lush irrigated orchards right up against tumbleweed hills and so-on. Beautiful land, though. Tomorrow we're on our way back towards Sidney and then on to unknown adventures. I think I will learn to do some canning anyways, which would be great!
Phew, not bad coupe of day, let me say. Frank and Liz have really shown me a wonderful time here in BC, every day packed with new adventures. I htink I've had just about the best introduction a girl could have, though they keep reminding me I have barely seen a sliver of this great province!
I saw quail today and they are so adorable! Tiny little birds that chirp and run around and have a little feathery thing on the tops of their heads!
Gotta run, thanks for stopping by and leaving advide on the sidebar issue, I guess it's just me!

We sure are lucky that you have such great hosts; 'you' for the obvious, 'me' because I know you're safe, warm and well fed ;)
