So, more like WHAT the heck to start

Hello and welcome...
Soon I will send an e-mail to everyone I know (don't you feel special!?) that will hopefully bring you here at least once, maybe more if I can hold your interest. Let's see what I can do.

First off, here's the point of this blog:

I'm going to embark on a little voyage around as much of Canada as I can handle/afford/manage and this is my journal to record any amusing stories as well as keep in touch with everyone who might care. Even if just a little! Please leave comments so we can keep in touch. Any advice/warnings are MOST appreciated. Use the comments! I'm going to try and keep everyone updated, and I'm hoping that if I am coming to your area, you will tell me and I will make an effort to get to you so we can have a nice tea, and have a chat. Familiar faces will do me good to keep me on the road and wouldn't it be nice to have a visitor to your interesting-yet-isolated job/vacation/homestead? I think so, too.

So we'll see how it all goes. My plans so far are...limited (whoopsie!) but I'm getting there. Overall, I would like to start in the East, then travel west and as north as possible, head down the west coast, then back across the belly of the country, like a big, fabulous circuit. More sprcifically: June I will be spending in various parts of Ontario, visiting friends and areas I've never seen. I'd like to go to the Northern shore of Lake Superior and do some camping, etc. On June 30th I leave for a week of camping with freinds in Québec somewhere (I'm assured that someone is more knowledgeable about the actual destination..I'm sure I'll figure it out..) and then from there I leave probably for Cape Breton. I'll then ferry to Newfoundland where I expect to be enchanted and get held up for a bit. Once I tear away from there, I'm off to the west/north and it's a big gaping hole of opportunity/lack of planning.

So that is all I know for now! More on details as they reveal themselves to me. Don't worry, I'm getting my guidebooks today or tomorrow and I've already started creasing my maps of Canada (I was considering getting my engineering degree to figure out how to fold them up, when I realized advancced origami would be more helpful. Immediately I settled on my own 'unique' system of mapfolding, tentatively titled the 'Crush and Jam'.

If there are any Finklefans in the crowd....thanks for stopping by! Keep an eye out for me in my Finkleman Fan Club shirt, it's hard to miss :-) I will have to remember to write down the cross country CBC frequencies so I can tune in on my little radio this summer. Anyways, if you do happen to spot me (I'm betting more sightings then Hoffa, but less than Elvis) please say hello! Any FinkleFan is a FinkleFriend, don't you know.

Take care all, and please stop by again. I will try to update at least weekly with plans, and I will be keeping an eye out for comments from you. Thank you very much

xo
